There is too much that I should contemplate about.

1. What were your favorite childhood stories?
Hmmm... I seem to remember reading the story book of "The Ginger Bread Girl and other stories". It was something like Lola Basyang except it was Lola Agueda who told the stories. One of my favorite stories was "E-le-e-se-las-be-o-bo." About a Juan Tamad-like character (forgot his name), and how he was trying to trick the king and the other seers of the kingdom so he can marry the princess.
But my favorite children's story would be "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar" and "The Missing Piece" series. Except I read them all in college.

2. What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children?
Same ones that I stated from above. Plus "The Giving Tree" and some of those Batibot books. And those Science Books for kids. They were very interesting and challenging.

3. Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything?
Yup. We were made to re-read our nursery rhymes in high school only to find out that they were actually a mirror of the morbid truths of the history then. Like ring-a-ring-a-roses was actually about the Black Plague. Peter Pan is really a very violent story if you read the JM Barrie version and not the Disney ones.

4. How old were you when you first learned to read?
Between three and four. I think I learned on my own. They taught me the syllables but since there were comics lying around I would try to read. There was a story when my mom came home I was reading comics, she taught I was making up the stories. But then she realized I was reading slow. When she looked at the comics, I was actually reading it!

5. Do you remember the first 'grown-up' book you read? How old were you?
I don't know what would be grown up. But I know I read through bits of "Mysteries of the Unknown" and would try to sneak some of the Time Magazines lying around in the house. If it had an interesting picture to match.

The weather is great. The rains have just stopped and Ateneo is looking beautiful. The fire trees... the greens... the gray-blue skies... the cool air. Wonderful. Lifts the spirits up a bit.

Guess what I am into right now. Time travel and Einstein. Cool. I actually enjoy it though I don't understand everything but it's quite interesting. Wala lang. It's the latent nerd in me coming to life. That nerd I killed in high school is returning from the grave. hehehe!

Today, I came in later than usual. But I seem to have finished all that I can do for today. So I still have an hour to go before I could leave. I've been surfing for quite a while already. Sigh.

Oh by the way, I will be all alone in the office for a few days. Everyone in the room will be leaving or have left for official trips. At least I can have the phone all to myself. So many calls to be made! Yaiks.

June slowly ebbs away in the sands of time, as July comes creeping by devouring what is left of the year. The threat of rain hangs in the air, but the weather is ideal. The scourging sun hides behind fluffy clouds yet there is enough blue in the sky to keep moods up.

Right outside this dreary office, the outside tempts one to take a slow walk. Fire-trees are aflame with their fiercely orange blossoms. A perfect contrast to green of the Ateneo and the grayof Katipunan. Distant cars speeding by and a security guard blowing his whistle can be heard in the distance.

Somewhere in the campus would be students wishing for the end of their classes, while others celebrate free time. There is nothing much to say... but so much beauty hangs in the air. It has to be said.

Okay... so I am done with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. After reading the book, I felt a bit dissatisfied. Contrary to many good reviews that it has received from critics. True, it is still a good book but there seems to be a lot of missing pieces (as opposed to the more or less tightly woven storytelling of the last four). Plus it was too much about Harry. Of course it is his book, but then there are other characters there who are also as interesting, if not more. Though I do live the development in Ginny and Neville (who I have always loved). And as usual, I love the twins. They're my men! Hehehe!

Of course, news have spread of a character dying in the book. Nope I won't be giving it away as there might be some people still reading my blog and all. But I feel there was not much build up on his death that it took me quite a while to actually realize he was gone. I couldn't feel much sadness until a day later after remembering everything nice about him.

The book is too detailed, too. She can sometimes draw on too much on a single moment that it tends to lose the intensity after rambling on about something. Sayang, because the story is still good.

There was not much on Voldemort either. sayang din. Because it was a chance to put fear in the hearts of the readers as he seem to be growing more powerful.

Otherwise, it is still a piece of literature. If not for all the hype and waiting, I might have appreciated the book more. Though I still do appreciate it and like it. Can't say I love it. But I like it.
